Soul Tonic: the Mixology of Meditation, Asana & Chill

Saturday, June 24
7:00 – 9 p.m.
@ Sacred Thread Yoga (O4W location)
In the midst of constant movement, Sacred Chill {West} is Atlanta’s first space devoted to the art and science of chill.

In this pop up class taught by co-founders of SCW, Meryl Arnett, Annelise Lonidier, and Octavia Raheem, you will connect to your center, flow and groove from that place, and finally land in a space devoted fully to stillness.

Prepare to be moved by music+ sounds that rise from the south of our hearts as we meditate, flow, activate mudra, practice yin, and yoga nidra in a way that feels like home; real and nourishing.

Drink in the breath and the fullness of what our yoga practice pours into us.

From the first sip, to the last exhale, this practice is sequenced to revive and refresh you; mind, body, heart, and soul.

Meditation Teacher Immersion

August 18 – 20, 2017

The Meditation module is part of our Art of Chill Series: An Immersion and Self Care Experience for Yoga Teachers. This is part of our CEU program, designed to give teachers who currently hold a 200/500-certification additional tools to create chill space for self and students.

Weekend schedule:
Friday 7:45-9:15pm
Saturday 1:00-7:00pm
Sunday 8:30-3:30pm
The traditional yoga practice was originally designed to support extended periods of meditation, and yet most of us, as yoga teachers, received very little formal training in meditation. Your 200-hour training prepared you to guide your students through an in-depth yoga practice. Now, it is time to give them the next step. Meditation.
The research surrounding meditation shows it is powerfully potent, physically and chemically changing your brain, boosting immune function and increases positive emotions.
Sacred Chill {West}’s Meditation Immersion is designed for Yoga Teachers looking to incorporate meditation into their classes as well as for those wanting to deepen a personal meditation practice. In this 15-hour course, you will:
• Experience extended meditations
• Learn how to modify meditative postures for comfort
• Discover the differences between the most common meditation styles
• Create your own guided meditations
• Find your meditative voice through practice teaches with the guidance of a mentor
Expect to walk away comfortable with a silent, at-home meditation practice as well as ready to incorporate mini-meditations into your yoga classes. This is part of our CEU program, designed to give experienced teachers additional tools to create a speciality as a professional teacher.
